TV interview: Job hunting during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID Series)

career change covid series job hunting redundancy & job loss tv interviews Apr 21, 2020

Ahron Young, the host of the new channel Ticker TV, interviewed me on job hunting post COVID-19. Job hunting and future career progression will look nothing like it did before. Lock down rules has transitioned interviews to video. Job candidates need to quickly adapt to technology, as well as find new ways to build connections and raport that does not rely on handshakes, body language and regional connections.

So:

  • What are the most important things a job hunter can do to stand out under these new circunstances?
  • If you are unemployed at the moment, what is my top advice for you?
  • What are recruiters and clients telling me about the job market?

We also discuss the recent developments regarding the news about the Virgin Australia administration, and how to transition from one sector to another.
