Renata Bernarde, Founder and Managing Director

Renata Bernarde is a Job Hunting Expert, Career Strategist, and Host of the Job Hunting Podcast. Her coaching, services, and social media presence aim to increase career literacy for professionals in the corporate, nonprofit, and public sectors. Renata believes that recruitment and selection are structurally biased towards the employer, and her goal is to even out the game by giving the candidate an upper hand. She believes professionals should always invest in their careers to maximize their results and achieve their goals faster.

In 2019, Renata founded Pantala, a consulting and coaching firm helping organizations and leaders navigate the path to meaningful leadership and professional improvement, and personal transformation. She was formerly the Director of Enterprise Portfolio at Monash University and CEO of the John Monash Scholarship Foundation. Over the course of her career, she held leadership positions including National Manager, Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), Relationship Manager, Institute of Chartered Accountants, and MBA Career Manager, at Monash University. She is a graduate of both Melbourne and Monash universities and has done executive programs at Melbourne Business School, Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership, and Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She teaches career planning and design at Monash University's Faculty of Arts, is an Honorary Enterprise Fellow of the University of Melbourne, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Our name, Pantala

Pantala is a genus of dragonflies. The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world, symbolizes change, the perspective of self-realization, the evolution to mental and emotional maturity, and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.

The dragonfly undergoes a series of molting stages in its lifecycle, evolving into an adult with an agile flight that exudes power and poise. The dragonfly can reach an amazing speed of 70 kilometers per hour, hover, fly backward, fly straight up, down, and on either side. It can do this while flapping its wings a mere 30 times per minute, while most other insects flap their wings 600 to 1000 times per minute.

The dragonfly's complex metamorphosis—its evolution into a powerful being—is the inspiration for the transformation philosophy adopted by Pantala.
